YMAA recently published our book (Dr. Kurosu and I), “True Wellness for Your Gut”!
During my time working in Massachusetts, I saw so many people suffering from all sorts of digestive issues, such as irritable bowel syndrome, colitis, Crohn’s disease, food allergies, celiac disease, and more.
In 2012, Dr. Kurosu and I decided to write a healing medical book series to cover the USA’s most common diseases. We provided healing strategies in both western and eastern modalities. We hope people will benefit from reading these books. Digestive illness is one of the most common diseases.
Why do so many people have digestive Illnesses?
First, it goes back to how we were raised and fed. Most of our parents and grandparents were not educated in healthy eating, nor did they understand the relationship between stress and disease. They did not know how to deal with stress and so passed many bad habits on to the next generation. I felt the same way, never knowing how to deal with stress in my young adult life. My parents did not know how to deal with their stress and sometimes put stress on their children.
Second, we were not aware that our eating habits could also cause digestive illness. Eating habits are learned from our parents, from accumulated stress and bad habits, or developed unhealthy lifestyles.
Third, and most important, is ongoing stress, which is a big burden to our digestive system. Stress has two parts: physical stress and mental stress, and both can affect our body and lead to digestive illness and obesity.
There are so many books about diet, weight loss, and many health professionals and holistic health professionals. But many patients are still going in circles or having a Yo-Yo effect: better then worse, then better, then worse. Why? This is because the root problem is not being solved.
In “True Wellness for Your Gut,” it is clearly explained from both a conventional medicine perspective and holistic medicine perspective about our Gut and Gut disease. The book also provides healing strategies from both medicines.
In holistic healing, what is most important in maintaining our digestive health is to practice balance in life. Everything is connected; our mind and our body are closely connected. The balance must be considered in diet, the kind of the food, the quantity, the quality, and a regular eating schedule. Balance in our emotions, workload, exercise, daily routine and social activities must also be considered.
The book is available on Amazon and YMAA Publication Center.
Keep in mind that it is very important to keep our digestive system healthy because it helps keep other systems healthy.
