Fibromyalgia is not a disease but a syndrome in which a person feel pain and tenderness in the muscles, joints, tendons, and other soft tissues. Fibromyalgia has also been linked to fatigue, sleep problems, headaches, depression, and anxiety. It can affect life and work on the daily basis. The causes are not really clear but may be related hormone imbalance, stress, depression, sleep disorder, and lime disease.

When I had lime disease 6 years ago, I felt pain every day in my body. But I don’t experience pain anymore because I am naturally cured from daily practice of Qi Gong and Tai Chi.

Most people use medication to manage the pain, but it does not really solve the root problem. Medication can relieve pain and inflammation, but the side effects from long term use can cause other medical issues. And then you will have more conditions to deal with in addition to the pain.

In Chinese medicine, the fibromyalgia pain is related to poor circulation of Qi and blood, blockages on meridian pathway (which is also related to nervous pathway), and organ disharmony. To help heal fibromyalgia in a natural way, one must address the core issue: improve Qi and blood circulation, remove blockages in meridian pathway, and bring back organ team work.

To achieve these, the best self healing method is daily practice of Qi Gong. This is why I am now pain free because I was able to practice Qi Gong diligently. There are three keys to healing:

1. Promote circulation:
Since majority fibromyalgia and arthritis sufferers have poor circulation. Promoting blood circulation and Qi (energy) circulation is very important. There are several things that can help you to achieve this: daily Qi Gong exercises (Therapeutic Qi Gong), take a warm bath 2 or 3 times a week, make sure to dress warm, especial winter time, keep moving by doing other aerobic exercise such as: light jogging, power walking, dancing, Zumba exercise, gentle Yoga, or any movement that increases your heart rate and make you warm. Avoid being a couch potato or TV potato, which is very bad for fibromyalgia and arthritis.

2. Diet and Nutrition:
Pay careful attention to your diet is also important. Certain foods can cause more inflammation and other foods can reduce inflammation and promote circulation. Focus on eating less meat, less dairy, less carbohydrate such as bread, rice, pasta, etc. Also avoid over use alcohol and smoking. Your diet should consist of mainly vegetables (all kinds vegetables), whole grain, barley, foods high in omega-3 (such as avocado), and alfalfa.

Adding spice to your diet such as: hot pepper, turmeric, ginger, and garlic will also help reduce inflammation. Nutrition support can also help to reduce the inflammation. You will need to take vitamin D and Calcium on a regular basis. On my online nutrition shop website, you can find good quality nutrition supplements, calcium, vitamin D (with K), that helps reduce fibromyalgia pain. It doesn’t have to be a large dosage, but should be taken every day.

Many people often forget about drinking water. No matter what, you need to drink at least 8 cups (8 oz each cup) of water every day and 10 cups in the summer time. Dehydration can make the pain worse. Water can help the body detoxification.

3. Positive attitude:
Many things can cause flare up of the fibromyalgia pain, such as: weather change, humidity change, stress, negative emotions, insomnia, food, or an over-worked body. One should always keep a positive attitude: weather can change the next day so can the body. Find the best ways to deal with stress is very helpful. Stress can cause damage to the body and reduce life quality, as well as cause more pain on the body. Qi Gong practice provides instantaneous relief of stress. If you can, remove stress from your life from making some changes.

Let go of negative feelings and negative emotions because negative emotion make the pain worse. Do something positive for yourself: go out with friends, do something you absolutely like, change your diet by learning to make super healthy food, and practice Qi Gong or Tai Chi Daily. All of these can help to build a positive mind and a positive attitude. Remember, fibromyalgia is curable, as long as you put mind in to the practice and practice daily, you will always see results. For people who use medication daily, you will be able to reduce medication eventually get off medication. I hope you have a successful healing journey!
