What is Dao? This is a big question. If I say it is the way, you may ask, what is the way. The Dao is the philosophy of nature’s way, the wisdom of human living, the principle of management of all works, and the intellectual guide of human behavior. This wisdom is described in the book “Dao De Jing” (maybe spelled “Tao Te Ching” in the book store), which was written over 2500 years ago. These are some of the Dao practices:
– Simplicity
– Letting go
– Be humble and modest
– Be natural and spontaneous
– Yielding, to win without fighting
– Embracing change
– Going with the flow
– Timing is everything
– Being Thoughtful
– Embrace the difference
– Balance and moderation in everything
– Leading by example, leading with humility
– Unity
– Open-mindedness
– Say less, do more
This is why I continue to maintain the organization Tai Chi & Qi Gong Healing Institute and study Dao monthly. You can find our Dao study information from the website www.taichihealing.org
Qi and Dao need to be practiced side by side. Qi is the body movement part; Dao is the mental discipline part. You can think of it this way: the body and the mind.
By practicing Qi Gong exercise and following the guide of Daoist philosophy, your life changes, your emotion changes, your health changes, and your outlook changes, you will be able to handle stress and maintain inner peace.
By now, you may have had answers to the rest of the questions. For more information about Qi and Dao, please visit our website: www.taichihealing.org
